The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole
persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive
fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in
the global ministries of the church.
As a member of the Southern Pines United Methodist Church, each woman is
automatically a member of UMW. While many women serve in a variety of
functions within the church, each one is invited and encouraged to also
become active in one of its Circles.
Mary Martha Circle
Please contact the church office for schedule.
Susannah Wesley Circle
Circle members meet at the church in Reeve's Hall on the third Monday
of the month at 7:00 pm. A devotion is shared and a special program
presented. Refreshments are enjoyed, followed by a business meeting
offering opportunities to participate in fund raisers for local and
district missions.
Projects have included our famous Chili Luncheon, supporting the Peru
Mission by collecting needed items, delivering the Daily Bread
devotional to area nursing facilities, soup and cake sales, Angel Tree
family adoption, providing the snacks for Vacation Bible School, and
volunteering to help in the church when needs arise.
Co-leaders Mikey Delle and Carolyn Stevenson welcome you to attend a
meeting and share Christian fellowship among women.
Ruth Circle
Our newest circle is Ruth Circle. This group is comprised of women who
are all in different walks of life but have one common goal—Christian
Fellowship. They meet in the homes of the members for a Christian
educational program, dessert, and fellowship. Please contact the church
office for schedule.
