Southern Pines United Methodist Church is a family of believers which celebrates all ages of individuals.  As such, we have several children, youth, and adult classes which meet on Sunday mornings.  Below you will find a brief description of the adult classes currently offered.  For information on children and youth classes, please consult the pages labeled "Children's Ministry" and "Youth Ministry," respectively. We are sure that you will find a place to grow in your faith in one of the classes offered on Sunday mornings.

Adult Sunday Morning Classes

ABCDE: The Adults Becoming Christian Disciples Everyday Class seeks to live into their class' name through the study of the Scripture along with sharing life through prayer and fellowship.  Class members rotate leading the discussion-style format each week. The group also enjoys social functions throughout the year and volunteering in various church ministries and service projects.  For more information, please contact Bill Pate or Nathan Hifko. Meets in RH 4.

Complex Conversations: This is a Sunday School experience which focuses on issues, topics, and events that are complex.  Complex Conversations is an opportunity to delve deep into a conversation around difficult and complex issues, questions, and events.  Each topic gets discussed in a series of multiple gatherings. If you have any questions, please contact Patrick Moore. Current Complex Conversation is a new book study, Confronting the Controversies. Meets in RH 5.

Disciple: The Disciple class is a Lifegroup style Sunday School class and are beginning a new study on Sept. 15th called "Community" by Andy Stanley. This is an 8-session, video-based study that explores how building relationships with the people in your small group and serving in the larger community around you will grow your faith.
Please join us as we learn why community is so important to our spiritual life. If you are interested or have questions please contact Carolyn Walters (910-692-5233 / carolyn.walters.cw@gmail.com).

Faith and Fellowship: As the name implies, participants in this class strive to strengthen his or her faith by the study of scripture in a manner that emphasizes fellowship and mutual support among class participants.  It is a discussion-oriented class for adults of all ages.  Study materials include scripture and a variety of teaching tools, including contemporary books and videos which are all provided. Currently, they are in a DVD-studying The New Testament. Up Next is a new book study, Scripture and the Wesleyan Way starting Sept. 29th.
