Christian Education - Adult Sunday School
ABCDE Class (Adults Being Christian Disciples Everyday)
This class studies the Bible and a wide range of topics related to young adults.
Members enjoy in-depth discussion and sharing thoughts and ideas with each other.
This class has four to five social events per year, and members are involved in
service throughout the church.
Class Mission:
To foster Christian Education
To better understand and to practice Biblical teachings
To seek direction for everyday life
To develop Christian relationships through fellowship
To foster discipleship and be good representatives of the Word
To support our church and community through service projects
To be involved participants in SPUMC's leadership
Shalom Class
This class is Bible-based. Books of the Bible, as well as topical subjects are
examined. The teaching method is a combination of lecture and class discussion.
The class is open to all adults desiring to broaden their Bible knowledge in a
friendly Christian Fellowship setting.
Faith and Fellowship Class
This is a discussion-oriented class. Sharing of faith experiences and questions
of faith are encouraged as the class participants learn from each other. The class
examines a variety of topics, such as parenting and marriage, doctrine and liturgy,
and the Bible. A variety of teaching tools are employed, such as study books,
video, and audio. This class meets for additional fellowship times.
Open Bible Class
This class uses the New Testament commentaries of Dr. William Barclay, a Scottish
New Testament scholar, as a lesson format. Open discussion of these interesting
texts is encouraged. All adults are welcomed.
