10 AM Sunday's Worship stream

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
As you probably know, last week we suspended all worship services and in-person gatherings as requested by Bishop Ward and Governor Cooper. Though things change day by day, I wanted to reach out and update you on how SoPines UMC is adjusting to our new reality in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. We ask for your patience as we figure out how to do Church digitally. Remember: We don't go to church, we are the church.

We are offering worship via our SPUMC Facebook page every Sunday live at 10 am. You can hear the weekly messages on our website by clicking on the ministries tab, then sermons. Our Food Pantry presently remains open on Monday mornings distributing food to cars as they pull up. We are providing weekly assistance to those in need by conducting telephone interviews on Wednesday mornings. Our Confirmation Class will be meeting virtually through Zoom with Todd and the pastors weekly. Sandy and I soon will be offering bible studies and devotionals through Zoom. Sandy and I are meeting weekly with area pastors, through Zoom, to share information and ideas.

We will also provide additional resources to help you connect with God during these uncertain times. That said, we strongly encourage all bible studies, meetings, classes, and gatherings to continue to connect by making use of virtual meeting platforms. Should you need assistance with this, please do not hesitate to be in touch with the church office.
Know that as of now our dedicated staff will continue to hold regular office hours. We realize that this is a stressful time for everyone. We are here for you! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 910-692-3518 or via email. We are here to talk and pray with you. Also, please be sensitive to the reality that while we may no longer be meeting in-person, all of our regular expenses remain. Remember you can give by mailing a check to 175 Midland Rd., Southern Pines 28387 or you can go to and click on Giving. Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity.
Your safety and health, as well as the safety and health of our larger community, is our top priority. Our plan is to follow the directions of the CDC and Governor regarding when to resume our regular worship and gatherings. We will be sending out regular updates, or you can check our website and/or stay connected through Facebook and Instagram. Thank you as always for your patience and support. Know that God is with us and for us, no matter what! Together we will get through this, and continue to be in ministry through our community and the world.
In His Love,

SoPinesUMC is heeding the advice of Bishop Ward, the CDC, and WHO, as well as local, state, and federal governments to remain closed as we continue to practice "social distancing" in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

At this time, ALL CHURCH GATHERINGS have bee canceled as we do our part to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Please continue to lift prayers for all communities affected by this novel disease. As the church navigates this situation, we will continue to be in contact with updates, especially on continuing living as a church family despite physical distances.
