Music Ministries
Following liturgical guidelines each week, the organ and choral music serve to amplify the scriptures as well as bring inspiration to worshippers. The Directors select all the choral music in collaboration with the clergy and in accordance with the church year.
Special services are scheduled and the choirs lead these services during Advent and Lent. Christmas season music includes Lessons and Carols, a concert featuring the massed choirs with brass and organ and special presentations by the children's and youth choirs. In addition, there is the traditional Christmas Eve service. During Lent there are Healing services, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday remembrances.
The music of the church is very important to the life of a church family and the music at Southern Pines United Methodist Church is both uplifting and inspirational. The choirs of Southern Pines United Methodist Church are always recruiting new members. We have choirs for singers of all ages, from 3-91! From pre-school to adult choirs there is definitely a choir that is right for all members and friends.
