Welcome New Members
It is a joy to welcome our newest visitors and members. We are truly a congregation
that is diverse in so many ways, very cross-generational, a people who come from
all over the United States, and a church inclusive of persons of various races
and nationalities.
We delight that those newest among us bring gifts for ministry that add to
our diversity and complement the many ministries we embrace. As newcomers to SPUMC
we encourage you to register your interests and talents, let us know how we can
serve you, and share with us where you would like to be in service.
Newcomer classes are held three times a year during the Sunday School hour,
10 - 10:45 am, in the church library, so that the pastors and staff can get to
know persons new to our church and share information. Classes include information
on United Methodist history and theology, the history of our local congregation,
and conversation about ministry opportunities.
This class is just for you if you are interested in joining the church or simply
interested in learning more about this congregation before making such a decision.
Come and join us. The exact Sundays when these classes are being held can be attained
from the church calendar, by calling the church office or by asking the pastor.
