Worship Committee
The Worship Committee coordinates the many groups whose dedicated service enhances
the worship experience at SPUMC. This committee is responsible for ushers, greeters,
placing flowers in the sanctuary, preparing Communion elements, running the sound
system, and other similar details and thus provides many opportunities for service.
The Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for worship each Sunday and
for funerals.
Acolytes light the candles and assist the pastors in worship. This program
is open for children in grades 4-8.
Members of the Sound System Committee at SPUMC are charged with oversight
of the professional audio equipment owned and used by the church. The primary
role of this group is to staff the audio console in the sanctuary every Sunday
morning to insure that the public address system runs smoothly and that any special
amplification needs are met.
The committee is staffed entirely by church volunteers.
If you would like to know more about the work of the Worship Committee or would
like to volunteer for service on the committee, please contact the church office.
