The Music Ministry at Southern Pines UMC welcomes guests and new friends and is always interested in sharing the gift of music as we sing His praises! It is a comprehensive inter-generational program that serves as an integral part of the worship and discipleship ministry of SoPines UMC.
The Adult Music groups include Chancel Choir, Praise Band, Mixed Ensemble, Men's Ensemble, Women's Ensemble, and Handbells. Upon request, we are always eager to create new opportunities for ensembles and solo work for vocalists and instrumentalists.
The Children and Youth also have a musical option at SoPines UMC in the children's choir. Ages from 5yrs to 5th grade are encouraged to participate.
So, whether you have a 5-year-old child or are 91 yourself, please come by to make music with us.
No experience is needed; only a joy of serving our church in a music community where laughter and love are equally important as the music we make.

Music Ministry
Following liturgical guidelines, each week our organ and choral music serve to amplify the scriptures and bring inspiration to worshippers.
State of the Art Audio Visual equipment is used to enhance the overall experience for our weekly early services, all practices, and most special services.
Annual large-scale projects include Advent Cantata with full orchestra, Children's Musical, and concerts offered for area nursing homes, just to name a few.
In addition, we enjoy offering special music for our traditional Christmas Eve service. During Lent, we provide the music for the Healing service, Maundy Thursday service, and Good Friday service.
The music of the church is very important to the life of a church family and the music at Southern Pines United Methodist Church is both uplifting and inspirational. The choirs of Southern Pines United Methodist Church are always seeking and recruiting new members.
