Southern Pines United Methodist Church
175 MIDLAND ROAD
SOUTHERN PINES, NC 28387
Southern Pines UMC normally offers two worship experiences on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM and 11:15 AM in the sanctuary. The early service is a Contemporary Service led by the Praise Band. The use of an audio/visual display during the worship service integrates Liturgy, song lyrics, and relevant passages of Scripture.
The 11:15 service is a traditional experience of worship featuring a chancel choir. The service is more liturgical than the Contemporary Service, and the signing of hymns feature prominently in this service of worship.
SoPines UMC values faith at an early age and a children's sermon is part of each almost every service except for communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month in both Sunday worship services). Children also have the option of taking part in Kids Own Worship (KOW) which begins after the children's sermon.
Nursery services are available each Sunday beginning at 8:45 AM through the end of the 12:30 PM.
Please join us in worship at either service when in-person gathers return! You are also encouraged to check out Sunday School (for children, youth, and adults) which starts at 10:15 AM.
A Holy Communion service is available most Tuesdays of the year at Noon in the Wesley Chapel located downstairs. The service is 30-minutes that included a devotion, singing, prayer, and the receiving of Holy Communion. If you would like more information about this service, please contact the church office.
We'll do our best to make you feel welcomed, no matter who you are! Don't believe us? Give us a try!
Live Stream Sunday's @ 10AM
Whether you have been a Christian for 75 years or are brand new to your faith, profess to be a life-long United Methodist, or claim no affiliation, we invite you to check us out.
We are doing our best to "social distance" and have taken our worship virtual on Sunday at 10 AM. While we can't wait to resume gathering again in person, we know it will look and feel different; and more importantly, won't until it is appropriate.
Let us embrace John Wesley's three rules:
"Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God." as we navigate this unique time together. We believe the church is its people and not a building.
