Thanks for visiting our website and we hope you will visit us in person! As an active faith community, our concept of "church" stretches far beyond the brick and mortar walls on our campus. We believe that how we live out our faith beyond the walls of our building is often more important than what we do inside the building. The ministry of SPUMC encompasses worship, discipleship, and mission opportunities. Each provides a way that you can connect with God and with others, both of which are important. This page will give you an idea of what is offered on Sundays when you visit. We hope that you will join us as we transform lives, uplift hearts, and grow together in Christ through mission, worship, discipleship, and fellowship. Feel free to contact the church office or one of the ministers to chat. We would love to see you soon!
YOUTH MINISTRY There are two Youth Sunday School classes, Junior High (6-8grade) and Senior High (9-12grade). Opportunities for learning are significant in the life of youth, which is not merely "our future" but is the present. The Youth at SPUMC are a vital part of who we are as a church community, and their presence is cherished. As such, they have their own space, where they can be who they are, while learning who God is.
WORSHIP The center point on Sundays is worship. At SPUMC, we have two worship opportunities that will fit the needs of anyone looking for a worship service. The first service is a 9:00 AM Contemporary Service. We aim to blend elements of traditional and contemporary worship, as we invite our congregation and all members of our community to offer new expressions of praise, prayer, and music in worship to God. The 11:15 AM service is a traditional service. We aim to worship the Living God by participating in the historical expressions of the church's liturgy and music. This service stands in the stream of the Wesleyan tradition.
SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is available to all people beginning at three years old and is an opportunity for everyone to gather amongst peers to discuss topics relevant to their life in the present time, and grow in their discipleship. For children, Sunday School classes are designed to keep them engaged so that the lessons are fun but also informative. Children's Sunday School classes are offered based on age. There are several adult Sunday School options. Though each one is unique, each one provides adults with a safe and loving community.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY Beginning at 8:45 AM each Sunday morning, children from birth to five years are welcome in the nursery. The nursery remains available to parents for their children through the end of the 11:15 AM worship service closing at 12:30 PM. Please click here for nursery information. For children ages three to seven, we offer a worship opportunity designed just for them "Kids' Own Worship."
